About injectable weight loss treatments

The active ingredient in Mounjaro® has been shown to be more than twice as effective for weight loss versus the popular weight loss drug semaglutide, found in Wegovy and Ozempic.
Wegovy and Mounjaro are both self injection GLP-1 treatments that are used once a week. Wegovy has the active ingredient semaglutide, whereas Mounjaro has the active ingredient tirzepatide.
Mounjaro is the more effective treatment and studies have shown patients to achieve 20% weight loss. This is versus the 15% average of Wegovy and Ozempic.
Although both have similar potential side effects, some patients may find they tolerate one treatment more than the other.
Mounjaro® and Wegovy® are once-weekly injections given in the arm, leg or abdomen. They use a very small, fine needle for a near-painless injection just below the surface of the skin. Both treatments come with clear instructions for use.
