Foundayo and Wegovy are both GLP-1 weight loss treatments, but they aren’t the same medication. Foundayo contains orforglipron, while Wegovy contains semaglutide. Both are available as pills, but unlike the Wegovy® Pill, Foundayo can be taken at any time of day, with or without food, and doesn’t require fasting before or after taking it.
Clinical studies suggest the Wegovy® Pill may lead to greater average weight loss, while Foundayo offers a more flexible dosing routine. Your clinician can help you decide which treatment best suits your lifestyle and weight loss goals.
Foundayo and Mounjaro are different types of weight loss medication. Foundayo is a once-daily GLP-1 tablet containing orforglipron, while Mounjaro is a once-weekly injection containing tirzepatide, which targets both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors.
Clinical studies suggest Mounjaro produces greater average weight loss than Foundayo. However, Foundayo may appeal to people who would prefer an oral treatment that can be taken without injections, fasting or strict timing requirements. Your clinician can help you choose the treatment that’s right for you.
Yes, it may be possible to switch from an injectable weight loss treatment to Foundayo, but this should always be done under the guidance of your clinician. Your clinician will consider factors such as your current medication, how well it’s working, any side effects you’re experiencing and your weight loss goals before recommending a switch.
For some people, Foundayo may offer a more convenient alternative to injections, while others may benefit from staying on their current treatment. Your treatment plan should always be personalised to your individual needs.
