About injectable weight loss treatments

Injectable GLP-1 treatments are medicines that mimic a natural hormone in your gut. They regulate your blood sugar levels and keep you feeling full for longer, which can help you lose nearly 2x more than other popular medications.
They come in a pre-filled pen and they’re self-administered at home once a week.The pens are simple to use and the needles are very small, so it’s relatively pain-free and easy to get used to.
Injectable GLP-1s are the most effective weight loss treatments available. You can lose up to 20.9% body weight on average over 36 weeks and lose up to 25.3% body weight on average over 88 weeks using Mounjaro®.
The active ingredient in Mounjaro® has been shown to be more than twice as effective for weight loss versus the popular weight loss drug semaglutide, found in Wegovy®.
Wegovy® and Mounjaro® are both self injection GLP-1 treatments that are used once a week. Wegovy® has the active ingredient semaglutide, whereas Mounjaro® has the active ingredient tirzepatide.
Mounjaro® is the more effective treatment and studies have shown patients to achieve 20% weight loss. This is versus the 15% average of Wegovy®.
Although both have similar potential side effects, some patients may find they tolerate one treatment more than the other.
Mounjaro® and Wegovy® are once-weekly injections given in the arm, leg or abdomen. They use a very small, fine needle for a near-painless injection just below the surface of the skin. Both treatments come with clear instructions for use.
