Levitra® information

Levitra® (vardenafil) is a prescription medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). When you take Levitra® you may be able to:
  • Improve your ability to get and maintain an erection
  • Be more confident in your ability to get and maintain an erection
  • Be satisfied with the hardness of your erections
Take a Levitra® (vardenafil) tablet about 25 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. With sexual stimulation you may achieve an erection anywhere from 25 minutes up to four to five hours after taking Levitra®. Swallow one tablet with a glass of water.
Levitra® (vardenafil) is available in three doses: 5mg, 10mg and 20mg. If you’re starting treatment with Levitra®, it’s recommended that you begin with the standard dose of 10mg.
Vardenafil is the active ingredient in Levitra® and is available in a generic, unbranded tablet. Vardenafil and Levitra® are medically equivalent but vardenafil is available at a much lower cost.
Generic medicines contain the same active ingredient and are equally effective and medically equivalent to the branded products, but are available at a lower price. Generic manufacturers have to demonstrate that they are medically identical to the branded product — in other words, they offer the same quality, strength, stability and effectiveness.
Like all medications, ED treatments can cause some side effects. The most common ones are: headaches, muscle aches, back pain, flushing, low blood pressure, abnormal vision and indigestion. Please speak with your GP or pharmacist if you experience any of these side effects for a prolonged period of time.
