Vardenafil information
Vardenafil is a prescription medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). When you take Vardenafil you may be able to:
- Improve your ability to get and maintain an erection
- Be more confident in your ability to get and maintain an erection
- Be satisfied with the hardness of your erections
Take a Vardenafil tablet about 25 to 60 minutes before sexual
activity. With sexual stimulation you may achieve an erection
anywhere from 25 minutes up to four to five hours after taking
Vardenafil. Swallow one tablet with a glass of water.
Vardenafil is available in three doses: 5mg, 10mg and 20mg. If
you’re starting treatment with Vardenafil, it’s recommended that
you begin with the standard dose of 10mg.
Vardenafil is the active ingredient in Levitra® and is available in a generic, unbranded tablet. Vardenafil and Levitra® are medically equivalent but vardenafil is available at a much lower cost.
Generic medicines contain the same active ingredient and are equally effective and medically equivalent to the branded products, but are available at a lower price. Generic manufacturers have to demonstrate that they are medically identical to the branded product — in other words, they offer the same quality, strength, stability and effectiveness.
Like all medications, ED treatments can cause some side
effects. The most common ones are: headaches, muscle aches, back
pain, flushing, low blood pressure, abnormal vision and
indigestion. Please speak with your GP or pharmacist if you
experience any of these side effects for a prolonged period of
time.
